The Pink Tub

Many people, upon finding out we are renovating a 146 year old house, say something like "How are you still married?!" or "My husband and I would never make it through that!" or even the occasional "WOW you are brave!" haha.  But I can honestly say that Todd and I have had only 1 issue the entire time we have been doing this project.  One.

The Pink Tub.

We have come to an agreement on everything pretty quickly and for the most part had the same opinions on things.  Except for the pink tub.  If you remember from the beginning pictures there is a bathroom in the basement that is entirely pink.  Pink tile, pink toilet, pink sink, pink tub.  Well, we agreed that it would all be pulled out except for the tub.  It is in very good condition and it is huge, heavy, and would just be another expense to replace.  So here comes the disagreement.  Todd said keep it pink.  It will be hidden behind the shower curtain and it's a guest bath so it won't get used very often.  My argument was that we are completely renovating the house top to bottom and the only thing not touched would be the pink tub.  Oh, and it's PINK.

Who can forget the beautiful Hawaiian tile picture on the wall right above the pink tub!

So this has been going on for several months.  We revisit the pink tub discussion occasionally and end with me being grumpy.  Well I decided to look into the cost to refinish it and then approach the subject again with a plan!  It worked!!!  Well, the plan and the fact that it was my birthday made it work!  He gave in and said it was my birthday present!  So last week Jesser Reglazing from Tulsa came in and solved The Pink Tub dispute!  It looks great!  The pictures don't really do it justice!

Happy Birthday to me!  Thanks Todd!
